50 stray cattle rounded up
In a drive launched today to round up stray cattle in Panchkula, the HUDA officials rounded up 50 cattle. The officials said the cattle will be kept near the Mini Secretariat. The Block Development Officer has the authority to penalise the cattle owners, but normally the impounded cattle are left at places far away from the township.Mayor visits Sec 26
Mayor Kewal Krishan Adiwal visited the Police Lines in Sector 26, Chandigarh, today. He was also accompanied by the officials of the Fire Station and Public Health Department. He also visited the Public Health store in the sector.
Protest march n Members of the multi-purpose Sacked Health Workers Union, Punjab, today took out a protest march in Sector 34, Chandigarh, to press for their reinstatement. Another member is on fast outside the office of Director Health Services, Sector 34.
Gate rally held
Members of the Punwire Marts Employees Union and Punwire Wireless Employees Union held a gate dharna outside the company office in Phase VII, industrial area, SAS Nagar today.
Banners removed
The HUDA today removed around 250 banners from sectors 1 to 11 of Panchkula in a special drive that lasted for around four hours.
