CM withdraws toll, subject to EC approval

MUMBAI, August 6: A day after transporter's withdrew their four-day-long strike, Chief Minister Narayan Rane on Friday signed an order withdrawing toll, subject to the approval of the Election Commission.Since the code of conduct is in force, the CM's decision has been forwarded to the Election Commission and formal orders will be issued only after getting the approval of the EC. The CM has convened a meeting on August 10 to examine all other options to special toll including surcharges on petrol and diesel and levies on non-commercial vehicles.
