SILIGURI, AUG 8: Tea planter and noted businessman Roshanlal Garg has not been traced even after nine days of his abduction from his office in Jalpaiguri district in North Bengal, police said today.
Superintendent of Police (Jalpaiguri) Sudhir Mishra told reporters that Garg was still untraced and no extremist group or individual have claimed responsibility so far. Police also did not have any clues, he said, adding that all efforts were on to find out the businessman.
Garg was abducted from his tea garden office, 30 kms from here, by four armed miscreants on July 31, while he was paying wages to garden workers.The miscreants, who fired at least 50 rounds to abduct Garg, did not, however, touch the ready cash of Rs 60,000 on the table, police said.Meanwhile, Garg's family members have not received any call demanding an amount for his release, so far.
