Police Inspector M P Patel said a team of three officials lead by him, alongwith a lady constable and Shilpa would leave for Calcutta on Tuesday. He said the police suspects Calcutta airport tagging officials in this case. He said after primary investigations, the police was likely to make arrests in Calcutta in this connection.

Patel said that the Calcutta officials had given a wrong tag code as a result of which these four bags were off loaded at Ahmedabad, in stead of Pune.

Shilpa was produced before the magistrate on Saturday and was remanded in police custody for 10 days.

On August 3, four bags containing goods worth Rs 1.80 lakh were reported missing from Ahmedabad Airport. The bags, which came in the IC 7267 Calcutta-Pune via Ahmedabad, Mumbai were offloaded in the delivery area in Ahmedabad as they had tags bearing code AHD/092315, AHD/092321, AHD/094385, AHD/094382. A woman (later identified as Shilpa) walked up to the Senior Traffic Superintendent Hasmukh Laljibhai and claimed that the bags belonged to her.

But on August 5, the Airport officials received a fax from Major Barun Dutta of Pune, saying that four bags belonging to his wife Monideepa Dutta had not reached Pune.

A complaint was filed at the Sardar Nagar police station. The police traced Shilpa to her Khanpur hotel with the help of an auto-rickshaw driver.
