AHMEDABAD, Aug 8: Kheda Police have arrested eight members of the Chadi Baniyan Dhari gang from Surat for their involvement in various cases of loot.The police on suspicion arrested Laluji Narji Bariya, a resident of Vatva-Dahod, and during investigation it was revealed that Bariya belonged to the Ramanditta gang of Panchmahals. This gang had, on September 3, 1997, looted a petrol pump in Mehamdabad and also injured the petrol pump guard and his wife.
The series of crime led to suspicion and investigation revealed that the gang had its base in Dahod. The Kheda police sent a team to Dahod and also kept a watch on all the entry points in the district. The main accused and kingpin of the gang Mulji Mudu Bhabhor, a resident of Chandwada who was absconding, was arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, the other gang members left Dahod and set up base in Surat. Following a tip-off, a team of officials was sent to Surat.
The police had information that they gang was staying in buildings which were under construction. During raids on several places, the six gang members were arrested. Those arrested include Ramanditta Vohaniya, a resident of Nadhelav, Dharsingh Maganbhai Damor, a resident of Vejalav, Sumala Diman Bhuriya, a resident of Bavaka, Reva Variya Mavi and Kantu Narisinh Bhuriya, both residents of Matva and Tita Koyala Bhabhor of Khartsola.
Meanwhile, the Sabarkantha police has arrested three wanted criminals with weapons and a jeep without any number. Those arrested include a resident of Bewar taluka of Ajmer district in Rajasthan, Ratanlal Naranlal Prajpati, also of Bewar and Ramzamkhan Hamidkhan, a resident of Ajmer.
