PUNE, Aug 8: Even as the Kamath Hotel on Saturday submitted a fresh application for health licence, the Pune municipal administration has decided to withhold the licence till the process of prosecuting the hotel owner for operating without licence was pending.Kamath Hotel's fresh application for a licence was submitted to PMC's health department this morning. Earlier on Thursday, the PMC's building permission department issued a conditional no-objection certificate (NOC) to run the hotel in a building permitted for shopping purpose.
While confirming this, PMC's chief health officer Anil Ravetkar said the health licence will not be issued till the process of prosecuting the hotel owner was on.
He stated that the NOC issued by the building permission department on Thursday would not be considered while issuing the health licence to the hotel located on Jangli Maharaj Road.
According to Ravetkar, the building permission department would be asked to submit a fresh NOC before issuing the health licence for the hotel which is in for strict action for using marginal open spaces for business.
The restaurant owner had applied for health licence on January 30. However, the file was closed as he could not complete the other formalities and the building permission department filed a report against issuing licence to the hotel on March 10.
On July 27, the hotelier submitted an application to the building permission department to change the use of the building along with the revised plans. The application and the revised plans of the building are still pending.
