One charged with abducting girl

VADODARA, August 9: The J P Road police have registered a case of kidnapping against one Himanshu following the disappearance of a 17-year-old resident of Sanskar Nagar on Gotri Road.

According to the complaint, lodged by her parents on Sunday, the girl attended school and tuitions on July 5, but did not return home that night. Later, a friend of her father's found a note she had left in his place, which said she was going away with Himanshu, whom she wanted to marry. She did not provide any further information on the youth apart from the fact that one of his relatives worked in the Mumbai film industry.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, Mohan Jha, said hectic efforts were on to trace the girl .
