Man falls to his death
Jagdish Shitaldas Padwani (52) died after he fell from the second floor. Police said that on Sunday, Jagdish had gone to the second floor to fetch water. However, he fell down accidentally and received injuries. He was admitted to V S Hospital where he breathed his last. The body has been sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Dies of burns
Nayna Alpeshkumar Goswami, a resident of Uttar Gujarat Society, Shahibaugh, on Sunday succumbed to the burns she had sustained on August 1. Police said that Nayna was boiling water when her sari caught fire. After hearing her cry for help, husband Alpesh tried to save Nayna. But he too sustained burns and was admitted to Civil Hospital. On August 8, Nayna breathed her last while Alpesh was still undergoing treatment.

Shop looted
Vijaykumar Haribhai Patel, a resident of Kruti Apartments has claimed that some unidentified persons stole Rs 38,298 kept in his shop -- Amar Medicine -- situated at Harikrupa tower near Old Sharda Mandir. He said that the incident took place between 11.45 pm on Friday and 8.30 am on Saturday.

Traffic drive
The Traffic Department collected fines from 1,081 drivers for violation of traffic rules. The Traffic Department also filed cases against 1,320 drivers for various offences.

120 arrested
The city police have filed 20 cases under Prohibition Act and have arrested 22 persons with 229 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor. Police also arrested 65 persons as precautionary measures. Police have also registered 10 cases of gambling and have arrested 33 persons.
