NCP confused over Haveli candidate

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Aug 9: The relatively high number of aspirants of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for the Haveli Assembly seat has put the party's candidates selection committee in the dock. The name of the NCP candidate for Haveli seat does not figure in the first list of candidates which was released in Mumbai today.

Among the prominent aspirants are Mayor Madhukar Pawle, former MLA Dnyaneshwar Landge, former mayors Azam Pansare, Anita Pharande, Nana Shitole, Vilas Lande, Hanumant Bhosale, and Sanjog Waghere. NCP leader Sharad Pawar had asked the aspirants to decide the candidate among themselves.

Meanwhile, the Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of the Samajwadi Party has made a demand to the NCP that the seat be allotted to their party because of the high number of aspirants in the NCP.
