Five arrested
Odhav police detained five persons under Prohibition Act on Monday. The arrested were head of Raj Security Rajvirsingh Laxmansingh Rajput, Fatehsingh Bhavansingh Rajput, Ranvirsingh Shobhansingh Rajput, Virendrabhai Chaturbhai Prajapati and Amarsingh Kodarsingh Suryavanshi. Police said these persons were found drunken in a jeep (GJ 2 A 3679).

Gang busted
Odhav police claimed to have busted a gang involved in stealing aluminum wires by arresting two persons. Police recently arrested Samarjit Bechen Pal, resident of HUDCO, Singarva, and Hansraj Naranji Chavla, resident of Ganesh Colony, Odhav from an autorickshaw on Odhav Vepari Mahamandal road with 20 kg stolen aluminum wire worth Rs 3,350. During intrrogation the duo admitted that they had also stolen aluminum wires from Odhav and Kunjad police station areas. Police also recovered stolen aluminum wires worth Rs 18,000 from them. Police have also arrested Devilal Prajapati Jat, a resident of Rabari Colony, Odhav, for buying stolen material.

Traffic drive
The Traffic Department collected fines from 1,306 drivers for violation of traffic rules. They also fined 1,246 vehicles. The Traffic Department has filed cases against 1,882 drivers under various offences.

124 arrested
The city police have filed 17 cases under Prohibition Act and have arrested 20 persons with 165 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor. Meanwhile, 90 persons were arrested as precautionary measures. Police have also registered four cases of gambling and have arrested 14 people.

Computer stolen
Bharat Harishankar Sharma, a resident of Kamaldip Apartment, Paldi, has lodged a complaint in Navrangpura police station that some unidentified persons broke open his office at Sardar Patel Nagar Samudra Complex on Sunday and stole a computer worth Rs 40,000.

Cash stolen
Naranbhai Raghunathbhai Gohil, a resident of Bhabhar village of Banaskantha district, lodged a complaint in Ellisbridge police station that an unidentified person stole Rs 25,000 from his bag when he was getting down from an AMTS bus near V S Hospital bus stand.

Accident death
Manilal Devjibhai Mecwan (55), resident of Padmashil Society, Amraiwadi, died when the scooter on which he was travelling skidded near Ghodasar police chowky on Sunday. Devjibhai's brother Jayantilal lodged a complaint in Vatva police station against scooter driver Manubhai on whose vehicle the deceased was travelling. Jayantilal said in complaint that his brother died due to rash driving of Manubhai.
