Ex-CM demands inquiry into woman's death

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, AUG 10: Former union minister Madan Lal Khurana has urged Delhi Lt Governor Vijai Kapoor to institute an inquiry into the alleged killing of a 21-year-old woman by her mother-in-law, husband and his friend in West Delhi, on Sunday.

Demanding an inquest into the role of the area district magistrate and stationhouse officer in the delay in registering the first information report (FIR), Khurana said there was need to reconduct a post-mortem,this time by a panel of doctors to establish the cause of death.

He said, Meenu Bharati, who got married in January, was killed by her in-laws at their residence on August 8. Khurana also said that he told the Lt Governor that there was substantial delay on the part of the district magistrate to instruct the police to register the FIR.
