JD(G) members put meeting on hold

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Aug 10: The proposed meeting of dissident JD(G) group members was put on hold as the group members are still hopeful of Urmilaben Patel getting the ticket for Vadodara seat. But the names for five seats remained undeclared even on Tuesday when GPCC president C D Patel and CLP leader Amarsinh Chaudhary returned from Delhi to Gandhinagar late in the evening.

Chaudhary said the list of candidates for 12 seats would be declared in the night. The Gandhinagar seat will be kept open for some more days, but the names for other four seats would be declared on Wednesday, he said. The search for a suitable candidate for Gandhinagar seat is likely to drag on till the last date of filing papers.

Former Chief Minister Chhabildas Mehta said he was hopeful of Urmilaben getting the ticket for Vadodara seat. He ruled out any immediate plan of action pending announcement of names.
