PUNE, Aug 12: A team of five scientists led by Haridwar Singh, director, High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) Pune, were today honoured by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee with the Agni Award for Excellence (self-reliance) at New Delhi.Haridwar Singh, J S Karir, R G K Nair, S Jayaraman, were selected for their outstanding contributions in the field of applied research and mission oriented projects. Karir is an expert in the area of gun propellants, and Nair has contributed immensely in the life extension of missiles. Jayaraman has been instrumental in the indigenous development and production of a large number of pyrodevices.
S G Joshi, Technical Officer B, received the Best Performance Award for his outstanding contribution in security, vigilance, and fire fighting.
