Two held with Buddha idols

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Aug 12: The Meghaninagar Police on Thursday arrested two persons, both belonging to Uttar Pradesh, with two idols of Lord Buddha. The unique thing about the idols is that they are made from five metals.

Deputy Commissioner of Police J N Rajgore said that acting on a tip-off, the police conducted checks in the Chamanpura circle area. Two people carrying a suitcase and a bag who were moving about suspiciously were stopped and searched. The two -- Khudabaksh Jadukha Shaikh (25) and Akbarkha Chindukha Shaikh (23) -- were found to be carrying two idols and some gold and brass.

During interrogation, the two revealed that they had earlier sold similar idols in Mumbai.
