SURAT, Aug 12: Parth M Joshi, a 13-year-old student of the city's C C Shah Sarvajanik High School, has become the youngest person to complete a Diploma in Computer Programming from the city's Bostons Institute. He was also the youngest to complete a first-semester programming course at the academy, a release issued here said.The 1986-born Parth is now a full-fledged programmer with proficiency in FoxPro, `C' and Unix, the release said. He now plans to complete an Advanced Computing Diploma from the Institute and wants to become a software engineer.
Parth, a class VIII student, says that all his assignments are done on computers. ``I recently submitted an animated presentation of the solar eclipse, and could have used more packages if I had more time,'' he said.
Apart from being good at computers, Parth is also a gifted dancer. He was one of 22 children who represented the country in an international dance festival held last month in Canada. India stood second at the competition. ``I enjoy both computers and dancing, but if I am to choose one for a profession, it will be software programming,'' he added.
