VADODARA, Aug 12: Satyam Infoway, the country's first and largest private Internet Service Provider, launched its instant, ready-to-use Internet connections package Satyam Online in the city today. Rakesh Babu, Department of Telecommunications general manager, and Municipal Commissioner G P Aloria were present for the launch.Addressing at a press conference, company vice-president Pradeep Laksmanan said, ``What we offer to our customers is not just an Internet connection, but a complete value-added Internet package. Internet today is the future, and with companies like Satyam coming in, the customer can now look forward to a hassle-free and fascinating Internet experience''.
The Satyam Online package comes in a CD form, and is bundled with free licensed software worth Rs 4000. Connection options range from the trial pack, which is for 25 access hours, through to the heavy usage `Discovery500' pack which gives single users 500 hours of access. There is also a corporate package for upto five users for 500 hours.
The free software include the Adobe Acrobat reader, Internet Explorer 4.01 and Winzip, among others. The `regular' 100 hour package comes for around Rs 3300. The Vadodara network will have a 2 MBPS (Mega Bytes Per Second) connection, said Lakshmanan.
