Akbar sword case accused surrenders

CHANDIGARH, Aug 12: Harinder Singh Mader, accused of cheating a Sector 36 resident for procuring a sword bestowed on his forefathers by Mughal emperor Akbar, surrendered today in the court of UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) Paramvir Nijjar.Another accused in the case A. K. Srivastava also surrendered and the two were sent to police custody for four days. The police had requested for a remand of seven days. Though the Magistrate asked the police to hold investigation there itself, the police insisted on grant of custody.Mader told the Chandigarh Newsline that he "he wanted to join in the investigation so that he could get justice".
