`India can make neutron bomb'
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
MUMBAI, AUGUST 16: India has the capacity to build a neutron bomb, according to Atomic Energy Commission chairperson, Rajagopala Chidambaram. After the Pokhran-2 tests, Indian scientists can design and make nuclear weapons of ``any type or size,'' Chidambaram told PTI. The neutron bomb is a low-yield thermo-nuclear device where the neutron producing fusion process dominates over the fission trigger. It is not difficult to build such a device, said Chidambaram.India has not stopped nuclear weapons research, said Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) officials. ``The research is on. We have not stopped (it),'' said Anil Kakodkar, BARC director. Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
