More results declared
The Panjab University authorities have declared the results of LLB third semester, MA I Economics, MSc Home Science (food and nutrition) second semester, MA I Fine Arts, MA I and MA II Music (instrumental) exams held earlier this year. A press release issued by the Joint Controller of Examinations stated that the results of BA/BSc first year (compartment candidates) and Bachelor of Physical Education will be declared tomorrow.

I-Day celebrated
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof M.M. Puri hoisted the national flag to mark the Independence Day celebrations on the campus on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the need to focus attention on constructive and developmental approach for national development.

SOPU dharna
Members of Students' Organisation of Panjab University today resumed their dharna to demand that Honours school students from the science departments be given provisional admission in the next class.

Inaugural session
The 15th inaugural session of the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan's Dayanand College of Communication and Management was held on the college campus in Chandigarh today. Punjab Chief Secretary R.S. Mann was the chief guest. Principal Col D.S. Cheema (retd) stated that 250 students had already joined the college and the remaining seats were expected to be filled soon by next week. He stated that the classrooms and library facilities would be upgraded during this session.

Chairman of the BVB, R.K. Saboo, in his opening address stressed on the need for continuing to learn "in order to to be relevant.'' He stated that consciousness of one's heritage was as important as the presence of roots in a plant.

Saplings planted
The Uttrakhand Yuva Manch organised two tree plantation camps - on August 8 and August 15 - at the Bhiwani Temple in village Khuda Ali Sher. Over 150 saplings were planted and dedicated ``to the Martyrs of Kargil'' a press release stated.
