Releasing the list of nominations "found valid," outgoing secretary M. Rajivlochan stated that the withdrawals for elections would be received till 5 p.m. on August 17. Among those in race for the post are AIFUTA president P.P. Arya, S.C. Kaushal from the Botany department and Sahib Singh Bhayana, from the Department of Correspondence Studies, the release stated.

While Harjinder Singh (Chemistry), Ravi Mahajan (DCS) and Tankeshwar Kumar (Physics) have reportedly filed nominations for the post of PUTA secretary. Other posts for which elections are being held are that on a vice-president, a joint-secretary, a treasurer and 13 executive members, it was added.
