PANCHKULA, AUG 16: The Citizens' Welfare Association has urged HUDA to check the menace of stray cattle and ensure proper sanitation in the township. The Council President, S.K.Nayar, has condemned HUDA for neglecting the township and its maintenance. The Council said that it is disheartening that these two problems have remained for so many years inspite of Panchkula being the satellite township of Chandigarh. According to the president, HUDA had given the sanitation work to some private contractors but due to lack of proper supervision, there is no progress.
Due to stray cattle, daily accidents are reported from the township and nothing has been done to effectively check the menace. The Council also protested that stray cattle damage plantations in the township, especially at the roundabouts in different sectors.
The Council demanded that HUDA should follow the slogan, "Clean and green" and should work accordingly.
