PATIALA, AUG 16: Finance Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh while inaugurating the new academic session of the Punjabi University affiliated local Guru Harkrishan College of Management and Technology here today exhorted the students to develop their all-round personality and professional skills.Dr B. S. Mann, reader coordinator, IAS Training Centre of Punjabi University, in his presidential remarks said that the globalisation of the Indian market had stimulated the need for professionals with global vision and hoped that the college would assess and monitor individual development with quality control.
Surjit Singh Rakhra, SAD candidate for the Patiala parliamentary seat, announced that an MoU was being prepared by the Punjab government to establish a campus of the Wisconsin Milaukee University (USA) at Patiala which would benefit around 2,000 students of the region.
Those who spoke on the occasion included SGPC member Kamlesh Kaur, Jagjit Singh Dardi, Gurdev Singh, Prof Munishwar Rai, Timple Walia and Prof Rameshwar Parkash.
