Free education for Kargil heroes' kin Ambala: Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantonment, will impart free education to the children of Kargil war heroes, announced college principal I.D. Shukla at the Independence Day celebration function here yesterday. He said that Rs 1 lakh raised through donations by the staff and the students was sent towards the PM's Relief Fund and the Chief Minister's Shaheed Relief Fund. Shukla said that Rs 75,000 raised through collections from the students would be sent to the family of Capt Jintu Gogoi, an old student of the college, who has been awarded Vir Chakra posthumously.Science seminar prize for Naiya AMBALA: Naiya of PKR Jain Senior Secondary School won the first prize at the district-level science seminar held by the State Education Research and Training Council at SD Senior Secondary School, Ambala Cantonment, today. Kajal Jain of Jain Girls School, Ambala Cantt and Kiran Bala of KPAK Kanya High School were adjudged second and third. Dharna put off AMBALA: The Netraheen Jagriti Sangh, has postponed the dharna to be staged in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner on August 17 and at the Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh, to August 18, in view of an assurance by Om Prakash Chautala to hold an enquiry into the disappearance of the Sangh president, Sanjay Lamba, on July 17 last.
