Dispute over rickshaw fare leads to murder

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Aug 16: Jafar Khan Yusuf Khan was allegedly killed by three persons following a dispute over rickshaw fare in Rakhial area here on Sunday. The deceased was wanted by the City Crime Branch in an angadia loot case in Kalupur.

Jafar alias Jafar Batka alias Jafar Batali was also wanted in several other cases by the city police and had been earlier arrested in a case of attempted murder. Police said Jafar was on a week's parole when the incident took place.

The incident took place between 3 pm and 5.30 pm and police said they suspect the involvement of Athar Hussain Sakhavathussain Ansari and his sons Majid Hussain and Khalid Hussain, all residents of Rakhial. A complaint of murder has been lodged by Jafar's elder brother, Anwar Yusufkhan Pathan.

In his complaint, Anwar has stated that at midnight on Saturday, their brother Sarvarkhan, a rickshaw driver, asked the three to pay one-and-a-half times the normal fare, as per the rule. But the three allegedly attacked Sarvarkhan. When Jafar came to know of the incident, he went to meet Attar and his sons. But they allegedly attacked him with weapons and killed him.
