Lucky Friday
Superstition can wait when its time for a party. While the Cassandras can cry themselves hoarse about Friday, the 13th being unlucky, party hoppers had a busy time with events at 10 Downing Street and Black Cadillac. Skeletons hung from the ceiling, lizards crawled on the walls, an incubus stared menacingly and Count Dracula was stalking his prey. So what was a nice girl like Fleur Xavier doing in a place like this? She was part of the Friday, the 13th night at TDS. In an evening of chills and thrills the pretty model mixed with the crowd, played pool and distributed prizes for assorted games. Starry nite Birthdays are meant to be celebrated and Black Cadillac put that plan into action with a string of events. After Indipop singer Mehnaaz the spotlight turned to model Namrata Baruwa. The model, mainly remembered for her role in the Gabbar Mix music video, went through the motions of interacting and conducting games for those present.

Testing time for DJs
It happened last year and now its here again. The war of the DJs where Disc Jockeys can come out of their little cubicles and show their skills in a competition. Poona Club will rock with music on August 17 as the fourth regional final of the Smirnoff Times Music DMC World DJ Mixing championships India '99 gets underway. The purpose behind this event is `to create a platform to promote DJs and music mixing'. The coolest DJs with the hottest music tracks will be selected to make it to Mumbai where the grand finale is to be held later this month. The other regional finals were held Mumbai, Bangalore and Calcutta and will move on to Delhi after Pune.

So if you want to see them spin, scratch and set the music, you know where to be.
