CHENNAI, AUG 16: The 15-member Sri Lanka-bound Indian cricket team had a vigorous workout under coach Anshuman Gaekwad at the four-day camp which began at the Chidambaram Stadium here on Monday. ``This is not a camp. The idea is to have the team together for at least a few days. We can call it a camp only if it's 15 days or more,'' he said in reply to question.``A few grey areas are still to be sorted out and we are trying to forge a winning combination,'' Gaekwad added. He lamented that lack of consistency was the main drawback. ``If a team wins two or three matches and loses the next match, it lacks in consistency.''.
With many of the players arriving only in the morning, the team had nets for about four hours in the evening.
Gaekwad said World Cup was behind them and all the team members were in a confident mood. He refused to comment about Sachin Tendulkar's role in Vinod Kambli's comeback but said that Kambli was in the team in Sharjah even when Tendulkar was not the captain. ``You saw him in thenets, he is fully fit,'' he added and said Kambli was back on his own merit.
