Child's words move Hazare

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, AUG 17: It were the touching words of a three-year-old child that moved Anna Hazare -- Anna upaas soda na. Hazare, who is on an 11-day fast at the temple town of Alandi, today said he would make a decision tomorrow afternoon whether to prolong his fast. He will be addressing people at 3 p.m.

Hazare said that people from all age-groups had only one request to make -- ``give up the fast''.

In the innocent words of the three year old boy, Hazare observed, that he felt he should arrive at a decision. He said he would sit in the precincts of the temple in the night to find answers to the queries coming up in his mind.

Villagers from Ralegansiddhi who have been unable to control their tears have also been urging him to give up the fast and return to the village. The Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andolan has appealed activists all over Maharashtra to converge at Alandi on Thursday to persuade Hazare to give up the fast. The activists will go on an indefinite fast if Hazare persists with the decision, the Andolan said.

District Collector Vijaykumar Gautam and spiritual leader Kisanmaharaj Sakhare, had a prolonged meeting with Hazare, to persuade him to give up his fast.
