BJP fields Anna Dange's son for Sangli Lok Sabha seat

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, AUG 17: The BJP has finally declared its candidate for the Sangli Lok Sabha seat today. Rajendra Dange, son of social welfare minister Anna Dange will contest the Sangli seat, quelling rumours that Dange was unhappy with the party leadership.

The party apparently wanted Anna Dange himself to contest, but the minister was unwilling. (Dange is a member of the legislative council).

The seat was the only other LS seat with Pandharpur, for which candidates were not announced last Saturday. Pandharpur, a reserved constituency still remains without a candidate.

The party also named candidates for six assembly seats today, leaving only three more to be named. The candidates were declared today for Baglan, Jalamb, Kelapur, Kamptee, Bopodi and Solapur city.
