NDA will get majority in Lok Sabha -- Modi

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AMBALA, AUG 17: Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Narender Modi today claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would get a comfortable majority in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Modi, who is also incharge of Haryana affairs, said the NDA would go to the electorate for a positive vote on national issues. He said he was confident that the electorate would reject the Congress and punish it for its "misdeeds" during the past 45 years.

Talking to mediapersons here, he charged the Congress with having played a negative role throughout the Kargil conflict. Modi was here in connection with the party's election campaign for Haryana BJP general secretary Ratan Lal Kataria, who is seeking election to the Lok Sabha from Ambala (SC) constituency. Gold seized.

  • Police have seized 25 gold biscuits and 335 gm of gold ornaments and arrested a local man. SP M.S. Malik said police had information that Vijay Kumar was bringing gold biscuits from Delhi by train. A police team caught Vijay as soon as he alighted from the train and tried to flee on a scooter.

The SP said that the accused had concealed the biscuits under the soles of his shoes.
