YMCA body building
The New Delhi YMCA third Mr Y invitational body building contest will be held at the YMCA premises on August 25. The championship will be held in eight weight categories and is open to the residents of Delhi only. A club/gym can send a maximum of 10-member team (not more than two participants in a category). Title for Translan
Translan Academy won the overall championship of the first UP State inter-school shooting championship organised by Deep Memorial Public School in the school premises at Ghaziabad.

Hasibul Hasan (Deep Memorial School) got the first place in the 177 air rifle (NR) with 279 points while his school-mate Manoj Varmani got the second place with 278 points. Deep Memorial School won the team championship. Akashy Yadav of Deep School got gold medal in the junior division scoring 273 points.

In the girls section, Pragya Aggarwal bagged the gold with 253 points.

Salwan in semis
A quickfire 47 off 40 balls by Saurabh Ahuja helped GD Salwan Public School (Rajinder Nagar) enter the semifinal of the sub-junior zonal (zone-28) tournament beating St Michael School (Pusa Road) by five wickets.

Amit Mehra and Rajat Taneja were the bowling heroes for the winners.

St Michael's were all out for 77. Akansh was the top scorer (23) for the losers.

Chopra co-opted
The executive committee of Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has co-opted Suresh K Chopra, senior law manager, Punjab National Bank, as member of the Board of Directors in place of B M Gupta who has resigned, according to DDCA general secretary S P Bansal.
