JAMMU, AUG 19: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team led by inspector Balbir Sharma has busted an inter-state gang involved in issuing fake certificates of several state education boards at Ittawa in Uttar Pradesh.Three persons namely Raju Rajan of Bihar working in the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), here as photographer besides Ajay Rathore of Delhi and Sudhir Pathak of Ittawa, the prime accused, have been arrested in this connection and brought here for further interrogation.
According to sources, on a tip-off, CBI sleuths interrogated Raju who allegedly disclosed that he had purchased the board certificate he used to get job in the ASI, by paying Rs 5,000 to Ajay Rathore who was operating from Vikaspuri, Delhi. Accordingly, the team comprising inspector Balbir Sharma, Rajbir Singh besides Raghuvir Dayal Sharma and Gurdev Singh went to Delhi and arrested Rathore.
On the disclosure made by Rathore, the team raided the shop of Pathak in Ittawa on August 12 last and seized fake certificatesof several state education boards, fake stamps of many school principals, district magistrates besides computers and typewriters. The accused have been brought here and a formal case registered against all the three. Further investigations were on.
