Forum events to put city on IT map

VADODARA, Aug 19: The Information Technology (IT) Forum of Vadodara has lined up two major events on Friday with the specific aim of putting Vadodara on the country's IT map.

According to a release the Forum, which was started as a special interest group of Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries Association, would organise a seminar on `Emerging opportunities in the E-world' and an exclusive IT forum member/invitees round table conference on `Putting Vadodara on the IT map of India'.

For the seminar, which starts at 8.45 a.m, the organisers have invited eminent speakers to share their expertise and experience on the subject. The release added that the seminar aims at exploring e-commerce and web technologies, the new business opportunities they throw up, and career opportunities.

The seminar would focus national attention on Vadodara as a hub for emerging IT business opportunities and provide networking opportunities for delegates to interact with industry leaders. The speakers would include Pravin Gandhi, Harish Mehta, Uma Iyer, Bhavin Turakhia and Ashish Shah.

During the round table meeting, an opportunity would again be provided to forum members to interact with industry leaders, government officials, venture capitalist, bankers etc.

Prior to the round table conference on `What can a city like Vadodara do to get on the IT map', a brief presentation of IT happenings in Vadodara would be shown, which would be followed by a brief presentation by a government official on Gujarat's initiatives.
