MUMBAI, AUG 19: Rohan Juneja won the Rs 85,000 Otters Club All-India Open squash under-19 title beating Parth Doshi 6-9, 9-7, 9-3, 9-0 in the final today. The third-seeded Doshi, who upset second seed Bikram Uberoi in the semi-final yesterday, lost concentration in the second game after pocketing the first. Juneja, who last played in the city in June '98 and had beaten Doshi in the selection trials of the World Junior Championships, needed only that much space to claim the Rs 20,000 prize.
In the under-17 final, Junaid Nathani lead 7-0 in the second game after winning the first 9-0 against Siddharth Suchde. He missed a crosscourt flick, lost his rhythm and allowed Suchde to pull back to a 10-9 win.
Suchde, who had earlier won the under-15 final beating top seed and school-mate Mihir Sheth, lost the next two games 9-2, 9-1.
The under-19 girls' final, top seed Deepali Anvekar's power reigned over second seed Joshna Chinappa's court craft. Deepali won 9-4, 9-6, 7-9, 9-4, a result that did not leaveJoshna too disappointed.
``I never expected to take a game from her,'' said the Chennai-based Joshna, referring to the third game which she won with delectable shots. She had Deepali scrambling for shots and once had the top seed spread-eagled with a deft placement.
Joshna, however, had it easy in the under-15 final, beating Supriya Balsekar 9-6, 9-3, 9-2.
Hong Kong Open winner Alisha Mashruwala lost the boys' under-11 final to Sandeep Jhangra 9-5, 9-4, 3-9, 9-3.
