Kuldeep Mann

BAGHAPURANA, AUG 22: A car with a red light at the top and without a registration number, accompanying the cavalcade of Union Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, was seized by the Faridkot election observer Sudhir Kumar on Sunday.

The Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party candidate was going to attend an election rally.

According to sources, the observer raided Badal Jr's cavalcade following complaints of election code violations from the Congress candidate Jagmeet Singh Brar. When Sudhir Kumar noticed more vehicles than the prescribed number accompanying the cavalcade of Sukhbir Badal, he ordered that the car be sealed.

A senior police officer in Moga, however, said that the car was seized under the Motor Vehicles Act. He said the car was a part of convoy of Z-Plus security that had been provided to Sukhbir Badal. He said that the car had recently been purchased by the Industry Department from Agra and it was yet to be registered.
