Woman assaulted
A man assaulted his wife and injured her seriously during the early hours of Monday, the police said. According to the victim, a resident of Bharwaad Ni Chawl area of Nana Varachha, she was assaulted by her husband after midnight as he was not happy with the food that she had cooked. While the police has arrested the accused under sections of the IPC and MVA, the victim is recovering from head injuries, the police added.Body recovered
The Katargam police recovered the body of an unidentified woman, aged between 32 and 35, from the Singanpore Char Rasta on Sunday night. The scantily clad woman was perhaps a beggar, the police said, adding that autopsy reports revealed that the woman had died of hunger. A case under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered in the police station.
Suicide
One Laxman Rupaji Limbade (70), a resident of Nagarsennagar area of Pandesara, died on Monday morning in the New Civil Hospital, where he was admitted with severe burn injuries in the night, the police said. Limbade set himself on fire, due to unascertained reasons, and was rushed to the hospital, where he died at 8 am on Monday, the Pandesara police said. A case of accidental death under section 174 of the CrPC has been registered.
Vehicle stolen
A TVS Suzuki motorcycle (GJ 5 HH 2388) was stolen from the Mahidharpura area of the city, a case registered on Monday afternoon said. Hemant Gohil, the vehicle-owner, told the police that he had parked his vehicle at Jadakhaadi area of Mahidharpura, from where it was stolen. A case of theft under IPC 379 has been registered.
