CHANDIGARH, Sept 3: Disabled Armed Forces veterans have appealed to city residents as well as ex-servicemen to support Rashtriya Raksha Dal (RRD) candidate, Col Harsharan Singh (retd) during the forthcoming elections.Convenor of the Disabled Veterans' Cell, Col S.S. Pathania (retd) said that Col Harsharan is best qualified to champion the cause of widows and disabled ex-servicemen.
The All India Praja Waris Conference (AIPWC) has also extended support to the RRD. AIPWC president, Samuel Bhatti said here today that the conference, which has a local following of about 9,700 members, stands by the aims and objectives of the RRD.
Later, breifing mediapersons about its progress, RRD spokesman Lt Gen K.S. Gill, said though they cannot say anything about the mind of the voters, the party has succeeded in making inroads and acheived something that they are proud of.
Meanwhile, Col Harsharan Singh today interacted with residents of Manimajra Motor Market complex and assured them that he will redress all pending issues concerning them if voted to power.
Traders and businessmen of Ram Darbar and Industrial Area-II also interacted with the RRD candidate and brought out their problems, including poor supply of electricity and unhygenic conditions.
