Irina played steadfast golf from the beginning, dropping shots only on the 4th and 7th holes to be two over at the turn. She fired a birdie on the 13th and was then just one over par with 3 to go.

Then an unfortunate 4 putt on 16th and consequent double bogey marred an otherwise near flawless performance. She immediate atoned her self for earlier lapse by scoring a birdie on the 17th to finish just 3 over (75) for the day, seven strokes ahead of her nearest rival Guneet Raikhy (82).

The boys had to be content with trailing the girls home with Karnanvir (83), Nitin Mittal and Sagar Bhatia (87) just showing ahead of ten-year old Ajitesh Sandhu (88).

Sandhu, who is a sub-junior (below 10 category) competitor, is vying for honours with boys eight years his senior, and doing very well indeed.

In the sub-juniors category Shruthi Reddy and Angad Matharoo performed well to return good nett cards.

In the below 10 category Sandhu was followed by Adhiraj Singh.
