One held in fake certificates case

Chandigarh, Sept 14: The city police today arrested Swaran, allegedly involved in the forged certificate racket unravelled a few days ago. The police also seized 25 more certificates at the instance of Lakshman, who was arrested earlier. Both Swaran and Lakshman are employees with the Panjab University's Secrecy Branch and allegedly involved in preparing and selling forged certificates of various universities.

Police sources said Swaran, had bought four certificates, one of which was in the name of Satinder Kumar. He would buy the certificates for Rs 2,000 and then sell them for Rs 6,000. 20 of the certificates seized today were of Karnataka University while five were of classes B.A. I and B.A. II of Panjab University.
