Western Command's magazine released

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, SEPT 14: Cultivation of a sincere desire and work culture are essential for the promotion of Hindi in official work. This was observed by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen H.B. Kala, while releasing the Command Headquarters annual magazine, "Vijay Chakra" to mark the Golden Jubilee Hindi Divas in Chandimandrir Cantonment today.

The Army Commander said it was a matter of pleasure that officers in the Armed Forces have now begun to take interest in the use of Hindi in official work and conversation, but greater and rapid strides are required to be taken in this direction.

Essay and typewriting competitions in Hindi are also being organised for Hindi and non-Hindi speaking personnel of the Command during the week, he said.
