Follow High Court directions, says DC

PANCHKULA, SEPT 14: Deputy Commissoner Vivek Joshi has directed all the departmental heads to ensure that the High Court directions are implemented by them. In a meeting, SP Alok Mittal said that all the police stations have been directed in this connection.

In the meeting, the State Roadways Officer, Ambala, informed that a meeting was called of all the heads of schools and the District Education Officer and also all the pollution checking centres have been directed to maintain records of the vehicles getting themselves checked against pollution. The police officials have also been directed to maintain checks and fully cooperate with the objective of complying with the High Court directions.

The DC also informed that a refresher course has been started for the drivers of the government vehicles, school vehicles and the roadways buses. These courses are conducted at driving schools at Karnal, Murthal, Rohtak, Gurgaon and Hisar. The Food and Civil Supplies official informed that the department regularly inspects the petrol and diesel samples and also it has been directed to take the samples in the presence of police official, weights and measures department and the concerned official of the oil company to ensure that there was no adulteration in the samples.

The HUDA official present at the meeting informed that various sign boards, zebra crossings, main road pointers and bus stop have already been done.

Also on the national highway marking will be done for the zebra crossing and all hoardings on the national highway will also be removed. Also, the same directions have been issued to the officials in Kalka and Pinjore. The Chief Medical Officer has been directed to ensure medical check upfor drivers of light and heavy vehicles after every 5 years.

Welfare schemes inspected
The Deputy Commissioner, Vivek Joshi, today inspected the welfare schemes of various departments. In the meeting, Joshi concentrated on the various schemes which include 20- point programme, family welfare schemes, books and uniform for school children, income-saving schemes, flood relief programme, district child welfare scheme among others.

Joshi also directed officials present at the meeting to make the pulse polio programme a success.
