Tendulkar's ailment diagnosed

AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
ADELAIDE, SEPT 14: Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was confident of a full return to fitness from a lower spine injury after consulting Australian doctors today.

Australian Cricket Academy doctors told Tendulkar he had defects in his lower vertebrae and scar tissue had formed, which occasionally became inflamed and caused his back pain.

Tendulkar said he was relieved to know the exact nature of his injury and expected to regain full fitness in three to four weeks, although he will have to do special exercises for the rest of his career.

``I feel more satisfied because they have given me an exact programme of how to go about it, this is very important because I feel now it's up to me to get back in action and overcome the problem,'' Tendulkar said.

All-rounder Ajit Agarkar came to Adelaide with Tendulkar and received treatment for a hamstring injury. He is expected to play again in about a month.

Both players plan to stay at the Academy for another three or four days to observe its workings andattend training sessions.
