EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, September 16: Two last minute goals saw Sukhantanagar Vidyaniketan, Salt Lake (SAI) enter the junior semi-finals of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament at Ambedkar Stadium, here today. In the last quarter-final of the group, Sukhanatanagar had to sweat it out to overcome a fighting Army Boys Coy, BRC Danapur (Bihar) 2-0.

The fight for superiority gave spectators a well-contested match where both teams played with a set gameplan and cautiously tried to dominate the other. Though it meant a goalless first-half, yet both sides looked determined to score. Finally, it was Sukhantnagar who succeeded when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 55th minute after Debdas Biswas was brought down inside the penalty box. Habib-ur-Rahaman Mondal scored the goal. Confident with the lead, Sukhantanagar came again two minutes later and this time it was Nemai Sardar who scored the winner.

The winner was scored by Saugat Subba in the 10th minute of extra-time after the regulation period failed to bear any result.
