MUMBAI: Renowned lyricist, Hasrat Jaipuri, died here this evening in a nursing home. The 78-year-old Jaipuri was ailing since past several days. Jaipuri began his career in Hindi film industry with Raj Kapoor's Barsaat and penned lyrics for all the major films under the R K banner including Shree 420 and Boot Polish. Jaipuri also wrote lyrics for several blockbusters like Anarkali, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje and Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayee.

WAGAH BORDER: The two Indian soldiers freed by Pakistan after 17 days in captivity crossed over to India at Wagah border near Amritsar, where they were received by the representatives of the Army. They were immediately taken to the northern command headquarters in Udhampur.
