Bhupinder Beniwal, a member of HSA and a law final year student, who has also held the office of general secretary of SOPU earlier, has been declared the president of the party.

Bhupinder said the party was floated to ensure say of the students in election matters. "We will be announcing our panel of members on Monday and are waiting to form an alliances with other parties," he said. However, Bhupinder claimed that their party was getting offers from various associations to form an alliance with them. "We will form an alliance with the party which will offer us a good post to contest for the students' council," he said.
