PANCHKULA, Sept 17: This year, the Navratara Fair which will be held at the historic Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine from October 10 to 19. Financial Commissioner and Secretary, Local Self Government, Haryana, M.K. Miglani, reviewed the arrangements for the fair.Miglani said special police parties and home guards will be deployed to guard against anti-social elements. He said fair price shops will be opened by the State Food and Supplies Department, Haryana Dairy Development Corporation and Confed to provide articles of daily use to the pilgrims at fixed prices.
The Food and Supplies and Health Departments have been given special instructions to ensure quality edible oils are used in the preparations of sweets. The Health Department will also take care of sanitation and like facilities and will set up two dispensaries with paramedical equipment, that will operate round the clock. He said the Public Health Engineering Department has been directed to make adequate arrangements for drinking water.
The Transport Department will run special bus services to the shrine from Panchkula, Ramgarh, Pinjore, Ambala, Kalka and Naraingarh. Besides providing accommodation to the pilgrims in the Board Sarai, tents will also be arranged for them, Joshi added.
