Give Punjabi first language status

CHANDIGARH, Sept 17: "Punjabi language should be given the first language status", demanded members of Chandigarh chapter of SAD, in a meeting with various academicians and researchers of Punjabi literature here today. The members also discussed that "Punjabi language was given a lukewarm status in Chandigarh". They demanded that the year 2000 be declared as "Punjabi Bhasha Year".
