Haryana vigilance bureau for action against officials
Chandigarh: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has recommended departmental action against three gazetted officers following detection of cases of revenue leakage. An official spokesman of the Revenue Wing of the Bureau stated today that it has recommended criminal cases against three gazetted officers, 11 officials and 25 others. Departmental action and recovery of money against 13 gazetted officers, three officials and two others has also been recommended. The transport wing of the Bureau had also checked 154 buses of Haryana Roadways and found 139 passengers without tickets. Chandigarh: The Haryana government has promoted Kamal Tiwari, Joint Director, Cultural Affairs as Additional Director. The post of the Joint Director has also been upgraded to the post of Additional Director.
Gas Plant covered under ESMA
Chandigarh: The Haryana government has declared the services of the employees working in the Faridabad Gas Power Project of National Thermal Power Corporation at village Mujedi, Faridabad, as essential for the generation and maintenance of supply of electricity. This is in exercise of powers conferred under Section 3 of the Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1974.
`More Maruti models in pipeline'
Patiala: More Maruti models are in the pipeline, and one of them will be on the road in a couple of months, Jagdish Khattar, managing director of Maruti Udyog Limited, said here today, while inaugurating a workshop of Hira Automobiles.Khattar said that MUL was prepared to face competition from other players in the car market. It was regularly developing and updating its technology and preparing to comply with the Euro II norms before the next financial year.
Barara robbery case: 1 held
Ambala: Police claims to have solved the September 15 robbery at Barara, involving Rs 15,000, some gold ornaments and a revolver, with the arrest of Jarnail Singh, a resident of Siwan Majra village near Barara.Two days back three youths had robbed Dr Harish Modgil of Barara at gun-point.M.S. Malik, SP, Ambala, said that police have recovered Rs 15,000 and the revolver from the accused. Stolen gold ornaments and a scooter have also been recovered. And assured that the other two youths involved in the robbery would be arrested soon. Malik said that the youths had demanded Rs 1 lakh from Dr Modgil on that day, but the doctor only had Rs 15,000 at home.
