Arjun stays ahead

BANGALORE, SEPT 17: Delhi's ace golfer Arjun Singh continued his sway in the Rs six lakh Wills Southern Open Golf championship to remain undisputed leader after three rounds here today with a one under 71 to aggregate 210 after three days at the Karnataka Golf Association Course.

Two strokes behind him was Jyoti Randhawa (212) who had a two under 70 and in third place with 215 aggregate was another veteran golfer Basad Ali who completed day three with a level par 72.

Mukesh Kumar who was placed joint ninth overnight, after his two-day tally of three over, came up with a brilliant three under 69 to stand at level par 216 and placed joint fourth with uttam mundy who had a fine two under 70.The day's best however came from Zai Kipgen who made a four-under 68 with birdies coming on the second, seventh, eighth and 15th where after teeing off with a six-iron, he sank in a 20 footer uphill, right to left putt.

Kang leads

CHENNAI: Harinder Singh Kang of Chandigarh maintained his leadership positionfor three rounds, sharing the top spot with Amish Jaitha of Pune with identical 220 at the end of the penultimate round of the four-round AV Thomas Gold Cup Golf Tournament here today.

Sandeep Syal, who remained the lone golfer to card a sub par score, was in third spot along with Raghul Ganapathy (Mysore) and Rahil Ganjee of Calcutta at 221 each.
