Shakeel man killed in encounter

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 19: An alleged Chhota Shakeel gangster was killed in an encounter with the Saki Naka police in the early hours today.

Acting on a tip-off that Mohammad Qureshi alias Genda (25) would be visiting the Saki Naka area, police laid a trap. Police said Genda had allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from a person and had come to kill him because he had refused payment. Police spread their dragnet around midnight as he was likely to visit the area at that time.

At around 1.15 am, police spotted Genda and an accomplice on a motorcycle. Police asked them to surrender but Genda whipped out a revolver. In the subsequent exchange of fire, Genda was injured. Genda was taken to Cooper Hospital where he was declared dead on admission.
