Govt calls meet with AMC on jaundice situation

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Sept 19: With 87 cases of jaundice reported from Darzi Ni Chali, Naroda Road, Jamalpur, Gomtipur and other areas of the city, the state government is planning to take up the issue with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at a meeting to be held on Monday.

State Health Minister Ashok Bhatt on Sunday said that he would be attending the meeting with the municipal commissioner and other officials to decide the measures that need to be taken in urban poor areas to improve the water services and make it disease free.

``The state government and the AMC will together chalk out a plan to tackle the health problem,'' he said, adding that the AMC had also been taking interest in the matter.
